Female Founder Friday: Kendra Scott

Kim Morales -
Female Founder Friday: Kendra Scott

This Friday’s Female Founder is Kendra Scott. Inspired by Kendra’s perseverance and resilience, our CEO and co-founder, Rajia Abdelaziz, has long admired Kendra Scott as a female founder she can learn from and look up to.

Kendra Scott started her wildly successful jewelry company in 2002 out of her spare bedroom with just $500 from her bank account, all while being pregnant with her first son. She was determined to turn her love of jewelry into a business with a philanthropic mission. At first, she went door-to-door selling her creations with her young son by her side. By never taking no for answer, the Kendra Scott brand is now sold at retailers such as Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom as well as in hundreds of boutiques and at more than 75 Kendra Scott stores.

Kendra’s personal core values

Kendra’s personal core values are at the foundation of the company. Family, fashion and philanthropy. In 2017 the company gave back over $4 million to local and national causes and last year (2018) they set a giveback goal of $5 million.

Kendra Scott brand encompasses fashion jewelry

Now valued at over $1 billion, the Kendra Scott brand encompasses fashion jewelry, fine jewelry, home accessories, and nail lacquer.
